Charlie Sheen

- His childhood ambition was to become a baseball player.

- Is a baseball fanatic, and knows the names of all the major players, past and present.

- Is a keen deep-sea fisherman.

- Is an avid Cincinnati Reds fan.

- Is a former Brat Pack member.

- Has published a book of his own poetry, called 'A Peace Of My Mind'

- Loves barbecue sauce, and has considered producing his own brand one day.

- Has 12 tattoos, including one of his chest that says “Back in 15 minutes”.

- Was considered for the role of Batman/ Bruce Wayne in 'Batman' in 1989.

- Was arrested for possession of marijuana at the age of 16.

- He nearly died whilst shooting 'Platoon' when he nearly fell out of the open door of a Huey helicopter, but was saved by actor Keith David, who managed to grab and rescue him. Charlie credits David with saving his life.

- Has a scar on his chin that he got whilst filming 'No Man’s Land' (1987), when a prop explosive ripped his chin: he needed eight stitches in order to fix the wound.

- Is a keen gun collector and amateur gunman.

- Had to take up smoking for his part in Oliver Stone’s film, 'Platoon'.

- Was a partner in Ventura Films, E.M.A., with David Michael O’Neill, David Sherrill and Nick Cassavetes. E.M.A. reputedly stood for “Eat my ass”.
