Trivia

Written by Billy Steinberg and Tom Kelly, the song ‘True Colours’ was a number one hit in the US and has since inspired countless covers, becoming the theme tune for a myriad of sports and commercial ventures, such as Kodak cameras and film.
Lauper has had numerous jobs, including being a ‘hot walker’ at the race tracks, where she used to sing to the horses to calm them down.
In 1988, Lauper was awarded an honorary diploma from Richmond Hill High School in Queens.
Wrestler Captain Lou Albano played her father in the video for the single ‘Girls Just Wanna Have Fun’. The video featured many of Lauper's family members and her dog, Sparkle.
Lauper only obtained her driving licence in 1991, the same year she got married.
Her grandmother was her maid of honour at her wedding, Patti LaBelle sang as she walked down the aisle and Little Ritchie officiated.
One fan always sends Lauper leaflets encouraging her to enlist in elocution lessons to try and rid her of her strong New York accent.
