Eddie Murphy Biography

Eddie performed stand-up with the likes of Whoopi Goldberg and Robin Williams at the Bay Area Comedy Club in his early career.

Older brother Charles Q Murphy is also an actor. Younger brother Vernon Jnr. was half of the hip-hop group K-9 Posse, which released two albums in the late 1980s and early 1990s.

Richard Pryor is his idol. The veteran comedian inspired Eddie to do comedy.

Eddie began a music career in the 80’s which saw him record the popular ‘Party all the Time’ which he recorded with Rick James.

Director Spike Lee criticised Eddie for not being political enough and helping other black actors break into the film industry.

Eddie dated Robin Givens, Halle Berry and Whitney Houston, before she married Bobby Brown.
