Hugh Jackman Biography

When buying an engagement ring for his wife, Jackman sat a jeweler down for an hour and a half, describing his wife’s personality in great detail so that the jeweler would have the best idea of how to design the ring. On their wedding rings, they have a Sanskrit inscription which translates to “We dedicate our union to a greater source”.

His wife wanted to name their first child Balthazar, to be shortened to Zar, but Jackman thought that he would be beaten up in school with such a name.

Jackman is a big fan of the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles NRL Football Club.

Jackman takes cold showers and listens to heavy music like Metallica and Godsmack to get himself pumped up when playing Wolverine.

Jackman had never read the X-Men comics prior to doing Wolverine, and was discouraged from doing so by Bryan Singer.

If Jackman were forced to listen to only one song for the rest of his life, it would be ‘You Can't Always Get What You Want’ by the Rolling Stones.

If he hadn’t become an actor, he would have become a daytime television host or a stockbroker.
