Joe Pasquale Biography

The squeaky-voiced king of the jungle and winner of I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here.
Joe worked as a Civil Servant and a builder before he discovered a love of entertaining as a Green Coat at his local holiday camp. He even worked on a meat market before finding fame.
Having worked the camps in Torquay and Great Yarmouth, he moved up the ranks to Entertainments Manager and started entering talent contests. In 1987, he came second in the ’New Faces’ final and went on to win the show in 1993.
Rumour has it that Joe’s trademark squeaky voice is due to the fact that he was born without an ‘Adam’s Apple’. Despite having been described as "a demented helium balloon", Joe’s first comedy video grossed more than £1 million and earned him a Platinum Retail Performance Award.
Joe remains one of Britain's top 'live' touring comedians and regularly sells out shows around the country. He is also rumoured to be a favourite of the Royal family, which goes some way in explaining his many Royal Variety performances. Some of the live shows he has toured with over the years include Return of the Love Monkey, The Crazy World of Joe Pasquale and Bubble and Squeak.
In 2001, he was the only British star to appear in a 25th anniversary show to celebrate 'The Muppets'.
Pasquale has taken part in four Royal Variety performances over the years and is said to have greeted the queen while drunk on one occasion. His most recent Royal Variety performance was in 2005.
He has also become a regular on the pantomime circuit over the years, appearing in everything from Peter Pan to Jack and the Beanstalk. Pasquale also appeared in the West End musical ‘The Producers’ as Leo Bloom.
Despite writing ’The Big Thick Joe Pasquale Book’ and appearing in his own TV during the 90s, Joe’s big time break came when he won the ITV reality series ‘I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here’.
Thanks to the show, Joe is currently enjoying a career revival as a cult hero.
More recently, Joe voiced the rat character in ‘Garfield 2’ and took part in the celebrity version of ‘Total Wipeout’. He also made an appearance on ‘Celebrity Mastermind’ and presented an episode of the ‘Paul O'Grady Show’.
