Bloom used to smoke but quit in 2002, when he began biting his nails in compensation.
He is a Manchester United supporter.
Bloom has a professional ambition to play Hamlet one day.
He was allowed to keep Legolas' bow and arrow from Lord of the Rings.
Cameron Crowe awarded Bloom's dog Sidi with a small framed poster for Elizabethtown inscribed with the phrase “Eat smaller portions”.
Bloom used to be a vegetarian but gave up while filming Lord of the Rings.
His mum collects all his newspaper and magazine clippings, including those from the tabloids, much to Bloom’s dismay. He still refuses to read them.
He has a tattoo of the number 9 written in Elvish on his wrist. He had this done with all the members of the Fellowship after filming.
Bloom became a Buddhist while studying for his ‘A’ levels in order to help him create better Art projects. He is still practising today, and yes, he chants.
Bloom’s cousin is photographer Sebastian Copeland.
He is named after the 17th Century composer Orlando Gibbons.
