Born in London, Roddy McDowall's dream was to be a movie star. When World War II broke out, his mother moved the family to the U.S and Roddy landed a role in the Oscar winning film ‘How Green Was My Valley’. Roles in ‘Lassie Come Home’ and 'My Friend Flicka' led to a series of successful stage productions. A prolific actor, Roddy stared in over 150 movies including ‘Planet of the Apes’ and ‘Evil Under The Sun’. An avid collector of Hollywood memorabilia, he also published five books of his own photography, before his death in 1998.
