Simon used to date 1980s pop star Sinitta.

Simon caused a bit of a stir on the US version of Pop Idol, when he was accused of raising his middle finger to fellow judge Paula Abdul. He was forced to issue a statement saying he simply raised his hand to his face and that the incident had been blown out of proportion.

Simon is a big fan of cartoon series, 'The Simpsons', and he recently guest-starred on the TV sitcom for free. He provided the voice for a nursery school admissions officer who insults toddler applicants.

Simon has a passion for cars, and recent purchases included a Bentley and Mini Cooper S Works.
