A lover of dogs, Richard named her cairn terrier, Miss Brahms after her ‘Are You Being Served?’ character.
Is Patron of the Cairn Terrier Relief Association.
Richard’s first words spoken in Mike Sarne’s hit single ‘Come Outside’ (1962) are the last words, spoken in the same accent nearly a decade later, of her character in the film ‘Gumshoe’ (1971).
One of her favourite television programmes is ‘Everybody Loves Raymond’ (1996).
Has a collection of over 1 000 ornamental frogs.
Remains firm friends with her ‘Are You Being Served?’ co-stars Trevor Bannister, John Inman and Mollie Sugden.
