It's only six years old - just a toddler, yet Google, the brain child of two brainy Stanford PhD dropouts- Larry Page and Sergey Brin - is already having a dramatic impact on the way people use information. In the old days before Brin and Page launched Google, internet searches often turned up more garbage than gold. Wading through all the irrelevant results was time consuming and frustrating. Brin and Page streamlined the process. So much so, that Google now receives 200 million queries a day.

We trace Google's meteoric rise. Its founders were typical dot com entrepreneurs - super smart and pigheaded - but they were also idealistic. They wanted to change the world by making all the internet's information available at the click of a mouse.
