[h3]Headlines around the world were made in 1968, when Greek shipping tycoon and renowned playboy Aristotle Onassis controversially married American royalty - JFK's widow Jackie. [/h3]

But this family's closet is chock full of other skeletons. Having reputedly arrived in Buenos Aires with just $60 in his pocket, Aristotle Onassis went on to build a fleet of oil tankers and become a billionaire.

He married Tina Livanos, whose sister Eugenia was the wife of his arch-rival, Stavros Niarchos. The marriage lasted until Tina caught her husband having sex in the saloon of the yacht that bore her name with opera star [urlnew=http://www.thebiographychannel.co.uk/biography_home/210:0/Maria_Callas.htm]Maria Callas[/urlnew].

Eugenia having died in mysterious circumstances, Tina then married Niarchos, and committed suicide in 1974.

Thus began a catalogue of tragic events. Aristotle's son, Alexander, who was being groomed to take over the Onassis empire, was killed in a freak plane accident.

When Aristotle himself died broken-hearted in 1975, his daughter Christina inherited his riches. Her life was no fairy-tale. Married four times, fighting eating disorders, drug abuse and depression for most of her life, Christina died in a Buenos Aires bathtub in 1988 aged 37, apparently from an overdose of slimming pills.

It's her daughter - with playboy Thierry Roussell - who has made recent headlines. He was embroiled in a fight with the Greek trustees of her estate for more than a decade and now, she's of age - she's chosen to sue him also.
