Premiered in 1988, the show immediately began capturing the attention of the national press and viewers alike. It also helped in the catching of criminals.

David James Roberts, on the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted list, was serving six life sentences for murder, rape, armed robbery and arson when he escaped. A tip from a viewer led to his apprehension.

Featuring dramatic re-enactments of crimes, drawn from the files of the nation’s top law enforcement agencies. The best available photographs and videotapes of the actual criminals and suspects involved are shown.

Helping to make their cities and their country a safer place to live, the American public joins the FBI, the United States Marshals Service, the Drug Enforcement Administration and local police forces in bringing criminals to justice.
