Farrah Fawcett filmography
Farrah attended The University of Texas, planning to major in Biology, but she left college in her Junior year and headed to Hollywood. There she met producer Lee Majors, with whom she fell in love.
One of her first films was 1969's 'Myra Breckenridge' and, soon after, she went on to be a semi-regular in [urlnew=http://www.thebiographychannel.co.uk/biography_home/543:0/Lee_Majors.htm]Majors’[/urlnew] series, 'Owen Marshall Attorney at Law' and 'The Six Million Dollar Man'. Farrah and Majors married and she became known as "The Bionic Wife."
Her greatest success came after she won a starring role in a new series called 'Charlie's Angels'. Farrah Fawcett-Majors became a household name as the sexy blonde, Jill Munroe. 'Charlie's Angels' was a huge success but Farrah became a phenomenon.
Farrah shocked the world, however, when she left the hit series after only one year, to pursue her film career. She was taken to court for breaching her contract with the show, but settled the suit by appearing on 'Charlie's Angels' for six episodes during the following two years.
During that time, Farrah shot three films: 'Somebody Killed Her Husband', 'Sunburn', and 'Saturn 3', which all bombed. Soon after Farrah and Lee split, and she met Ryan O'Neal, with whom she later had a son.
Farrah returned to television in the film 'Murder in Texas', but her career truly revived when she took the lead role in the successful play 'Extremities'. Her performance won her the lead in TV film, 'The Burning Bed', probably the strongest role of her career. She also appeared in the film version of 'Extremities'.
In 1991, Farrah and Ryan starred together in the short lived series 'Good Sports'. She also appeared in Playboy in 1995, and the issue became the biggest selling of the 1990s.
In 1997 she received some negative attention after giving a less-than-coherent interview on 'The Late Show with David Letterman'. It was speculated that her rambling, incoherent manner was due to drug abuse. She claims that she was just nervous and unprepared for the appearance.
