Mick Foley filmography
Mick Foley is widely regarded as the greatest wrestler in World Wrestling Federation history.
Michael Francis Foley was born in 1965 in Long Island New York. After graduating from Ward Melville High School, he went to the State University of New York.
A life long wrestling fan, Mick was known to skip school and hitch hike to New York City to Madison Square Gardens to see his idol, Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka.
It was after seeing Snuka battle with Don Muraco in a steel cage that Mick was encouraged to start a pro-wrestling career.
Mick was trained by Dominic DeNucci, a former WWF wrestler, who was impressed by Mick’s courage after seeing a video of Foley jumping off his friend’s roof. Agreeing to teach Foley the basics of wrestling, Dominic had Mick drive over 400 miles every week to attend his school.
After living in his car for several months, he found his feet by taking part in independent federation bouts throughout Japan and Africa. He then turned his sights on the WCW, but his stay there was unsatisfactory, so he headed for the ECW. After much success, winning several titles, Mick found himself heading for the bright lights of the World Wrestling Federation (WWF).
After agreeing a deal, provided he was not forced to take Federation chairman Vince McMahon’s desired name for him of "Mason the Mutilator", Foley became ‘Mankind’ and promptly made his debut in WrestleMania XII.
Since then, and with deft moves between the personas of ‘Mankind’, ‘Cactus Jack’ and ‘Dude Love’, Mick realised his life-long dream of winning the WWF Championship in December of 1998, after he defeated the Rock.
Mick went on to become the three-time WWF champion and eight-time WWF 'tag-team' champion.
Another dream was realised when he wrestled in the main event of WrestleMania XVI. Sadly it was to be Mick's last match after being brought back for one night only by WWF CEO Linda McMahon, only to suffer a humiliating defeat.

After retiring from active competition, Foley served as storyline WWF Commissioner. Foley has said that he intended for his Commissioner Foley character to be a "role model for nerds," cracking lame jokes and making no attempt to appear tough or scary.
Following a stint as a referee, Foley returned briefly to wrestling in 2004, competing in the Royal Rumble and eliminating both Randy Orton and himself with a clothesline. He and The Rock reunited as the Rock 'n' Sock Connection and lost a handicap match to Evolution at WrestleMania XX. The two continued to feud, culminating in a hardcore match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship at Backlash, where Orton defeated Cactus Jack to retain the title, which Foley now regards as possibly the best match of his career.
Outside of the ring Foley is a bestselling author, having written his own autobiography in 1999. He published a follow-up in 2001, which also became a bestseller. He has also written three children's books - Mick Foley's Halloween Hijinx, Mick Foley's Christmas Chaos, and Tales from Wrescal Lane - and two novels.
