Infamous Murders examines the killers who choose their victims by type, categorizing innocent people with their own sick desires. Gary Heidnick kidnapped young black women in Philadelphia, claiming he wanted to start a baby farm. John Gacy targeted teenage boys; he was the worst serial killer in the US at the time of his arrest. Lastly Kenneth Erskine targeted frail and elderly people in London, England.

Gary Heidnick was a 47-year-old US army veteran, who kidnapped five women. He raped them and tied them up in a cellar. He killed and dismembered two of the women, and either cooked the remains or stored them in the freezer. When one woman escaped, the police captured Heidnick, and he was executed eleven years later on 6th July 1999.

John Gacy was an outwardly respectable businessman and charity worker, but in the 1970s he killed at least 33 teenage boys. He indulged his homosexual fantasies before strangling his victims then burying them, either in the crawl space under his house, or in the garden. In 1980 Gacy was sentenced to death, and in 1994, the sentence was carried out.

In 1986 'the Stockwell Strangler' moved through South London targeting elderly men and women, aged between 67 and 94. Kenneth Erskine was only 23 years old when he broke into the homes of elderly people and strangled them. He was finally caught when police found a handprint at the scene of one of the crimes, and it matched one on their files. Erskine was sentenced to 40 years imprisonment - the longest minimum term ever handed down in a British court.
