Born in Houston in 1981, Beyoncé Giselle Knowles started performing at the age of seven. Excelling at dancing and singing, Beyoncé and cousin Kelly Rowland formed a group with Letoya Luckett. Mathew Knowles, Beyoncé's father and Rowland's legal guardian, became the band’s manager.
By the age of 21 Beyoncé Knowles was the founding member and chief songwriter of ‘Destiny's Child’, one of the biggest selling female acts of all time. With many of the group's hit songs co-written and co-produced by Beyoncé, Destiny's Child has sold more than 33 million records worldwide and have won numerous Grammies.
