Forget the Bad Boys of Hollywood, it seems that a whole hoard of female celebrities are now making waves across the continent for their wayward, hedonistic antics.
Not content with hitting the headlines for their latest fashion disaster or very public split, the vogue in today's media is all about law-breaking, personal addiction problems and high-jinx exploits.
Here we list the top-ten most troubled female celebs on the radar and what these naughty ladies have done to make a name for themselves for all the wrong reasons:
1. Nicole Ritchie
Occupation: Reality TV, bit-part model and and adopted daughter of Lionel Ritchie.
Age: 26
Lives: In LA
Exploits: Ritchie has had her fair share of headline space. In February 2003 she was arrested and charged for possessing heroin while driving when her licence had been suspended. Three years later Ritchie was arrested once more and failed a breath test. This time round she wasn’t lucky enough to charm her way out of a more severe charge and was sentenced to four days in prison after admitting using marijuana and Vicodin before she drove. In true celebrity style though she only served 82 minutes of her sentence before billowing off to her nearest rehab centre to clean up her act. Her spell causing havoc across America with her older friend, Paris Hilton also came to an abrupt halt when the pair fell out publicly rumours flying that Ritchie had shown Hilton’s sex video at a party.
It looks like Ritchie may have finally grown her out of her bad ways now though as not only has she been reunited with her old-timer friend; she’s now pregnant with boyfriend Joel Madden from the US group, Good Charlotte.

2. Paris Hilton
Occupation: Heiress to a share of the Hilton Hotel fortune.
Age: 26
Lives: New York
Exploits: Love her or hate her, America’s most famous It girl export has been engulfed in a truckload of tabloid frenzies in her mere 26 years. After the embarrassment of a sex video made with her then boyfriend, Rick Salomon was leaked to the world (a coincidental timing with the premier of The Simple Life TV series); Hilton seems to have built a shield to shame. Causing havoc to a string of innocent families on TV for the sake of the viewing public, it all came to a messy end in September 2006 when Hilton was arrested and charged for driving whilst under the influence of alcohol. Luckily she escaped with just a $1,500 fine (small change) and a probation period. Not known as the most clever girl in town, Hilton then made the rather silly error of being caught driving in January 2007, while suspended. Never one to do things by halves, the social butterfly further added to the situation for speeding in a 35mph zone, with no headlights on and you guessed it, no licence either. Hilton was subsequently sentenced to 45 days in prison for violating her probation, and generally being silly enough to do so in the land of the paparazzi. Unsurprisingly, Hilton’s sentence was reduced to 23 days- perhaps proof that Daddy’s money can buy you everything.

3. Kate Moss
Occupation: Model
Age: 33
Lives: London and The Cotswolds
Exploits: Croydon’s favourite export could once-upon-a-time do no wrong. But in September 2005, it seems Moss’ luck could have run dry. It comes as no surprise that celebrities often like to dabble in the unpredictable world of illegal substances but Moss unfortunately chose to partake in her habit in a less then private environment. The Daily Mirror ran a front page story allegedly showing Moss snorting lines of cocaine at a recording session for Babyshambles. Within a matter of weeks, Moss began to lose major modeling contracts from fashion labels such as Chanel and H&M, who feared for their own reputation at being linked with an exposed drug user. After issuing a public statement of apology, Moss slowly managed to regain her status and with the backing of fellow models, was soon top of the fashion charts again designing her own range for Topshop and gaining several new contracts. Not content with the drugs headlines, her on-off relationship with Babyshambles front-man Pete Docherty has been spewed across the newspapers more times than Moss has walked down a catwalk. After two years of public fights and Docherty’s losing battle with his own addictions it seems Moss has finally given him the shake to get cosy with new boy Jamie Hince of The Kills.
