The 80th Academy Awards show presented the usual star-studded, glamour-filled extravaganza, as the stars strolled Hollywood's most famed red carpet.
But while many shone at the opening ceremony, the real stars were the Coen brothers, whose film, 'No Country for Old Men', walked away with four of the most covetted awards, as well as Daniel Day-Lewis and Marion Cotillard, both winning Best in the acting categories.

Daniel Day-Lewis: THERE WILL BE BLOOD
In his ruthless pursuit of wealth, oilman Daniel Plainview (Day-Lewis) tricks a local farmer into signing away his valuable drilling rights and rejects his own son, H.W., when the boy loses his hearing in an accident. As he becomes increasingly isolated and unstable, Daniel places his trust in a vagrant claiming to be his half-brother, and finds his position unsettled by H.W.'s return and the growing popularity of the farmer's son, now an evangelical preacher.

Marion Cotillard: LA VIE EN ROSE
The life and career of Edith Piaf – played by the relatively unknown Cotillard – La Vie En Rose is a biopic which focuses on Piaf's relationships with some of the most eccentric personalities of her generation, including Marlene Dietrich and Yves Montand.
ACTOR IN A SUPPORTING ROLE
Javier Bardem: NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN
Set in the Texas borderlands, No Country For Old Men, is about a man named Llewelyn Moss (Josh Brolin) who finds a pickup truck with a load of heroine and two million dollars in cash surrounded by dead men. Moss takes the money and is pursued by killer Anton Chigurh (Bardem) while an aging Sheriff Bell (Tommy Lee Jones) tries to contain the violence.
ACTRESS IN A SUPPORTING ROLE
Tilda Swinton: MICHAEL CLAYTON
As Karen Crowder, Swinton plays a ruthless corporate lawyer acting on behalf of a company engaged in a multimillion dollar lawsuit.

When Llewellyn Moss comes upon a corpse-strewn drug-deal-gone-wrong in the middle of the barren West Texas range, he takes the bag of cash he finds at the scene and soon draws the attention of the county sheriff investigating the crime.
