Lindsay Lohan receives warm reception on Jay Leno show

Lindsay was well-received by the Jay Leno studio audience

Troubled actress Lindsay Lohan has received a standing ovation after appearing on the Tonight Show With Jay Leno.

In an interview due to be broadcast tonight (April 26th), the actress discussed a range of subjects, including her recent court appearance, jail sentence and family.

The 24-year-old, who is currently free on bail after a Los Angeles judge sentenced her to 120 days for violating her probation by stealing a designer necklace, was a late addition to the show.

Speaking candidly about recent legal proceedings, she admitted that she had found her sentence "shocking" and felt "kind of numb".

Lohan also discussed her latest casting in the role of John Gotti Jr's daughter-in-law in the crime family movie Gotti: Three Generations, starring John Travolta and Joe Pesci.

Latest news on the biopic is that producers plan to keep Lohan in the role, with Fiore Films spokesman Steve Honig telling the New York Daily News that the production company was "very excited about her being in the movie".

Filming is due to start in the autumn in New York.
