Willow Smith 'whips her hair' on White House lawn

Willow Smith entertained guests at the White House over Easter

Child pop sensation Willow Smith took to the stage at the White House during the annual Easter Egg Roll yesterday (April 25th) to perform her hit single 'Whip My Hair'.

The ten-year-old daughter of actor Will Smith sang and danced in front of a packed crowd on the White House lawn, including the president himself.

Barack Obama's younger daughter Sasha, nine, clearly enjoyed Willow's performance, while the singer's mother, Jada Pinkett Smith, could also be seen cheering and waving her hands in the air.

Earlier in the day, the president had blown the starting whistle for the traditional egg-rolling race, in which competitors roll pastel-coloured hard-boiled eggs across the lawn to the finishing line.

He and wife Michelle also read a story to a group of youngsters, supported by daughters Sasha and Malia, 12, and pet dog Bo.

The annual event has taken place almost every year since 1878, when president Rutherford Hayes first invited children from the local area to roll eggs on the White House's South Lawn.

Since then, the initiative has gone from strength to strength, and 30,000 people from all over the US attended this year's extravaganza.
