Geri Halliwell attended a party for terminally ill children

Former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell and the current Doctor Who attended a Christmas party for terminally ill children at number 11 Downing Street on 14 December.

The party was organised by the Starlight Children's Foundation to give ill children a special festive party.

Geri, who is mother to Bluebell, signed autographs, posed for photographs and played with the youngsters, reports the Daily Mail.

She wore a white blazer and matching skirt for the party, while Matt Smith looked respectable in a black suit and blue shirt with tie.

The children had face-painting, balloon animals and party games put on for them.

Halliwell was part of one of the most successful girl bands ever ' The Spice Girls' - who focused on girl power.

They released their debut single 'Wannabe' in 1996 and it went straight to number one.

In May 1998, Halliwell left the band and pursued a tentative solo career. Since then she has become a charity worker for the United Nations.
