Golden Globe nominations announced

'Modern Family' actress Sofia Vergara and '300' actor Gerard Butler announced the Golden Globe 2012 nominations on 15 December.
All eyes will be on Kate Winslet who has been nominated for two awards after having won a Golden Globe for 'The Reader' and 'Revolutionary Road' in 2008.
In 2012, she will be hoping to win the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Motion Picture or Miniseries for her work in 'Mildred Pierce' and Best Actress in a Comedy role for 'Carnage'.
However, the 36-year-old is up against Diane Lane in 'Cinema Veritie', Elizabeth McGovern for 'Downton Abbey' and Emily Watson for 'Appropriate Adult' in the former category.
In the latter, Kate is up against her 'Carnage' co-star Jodie Foster, Charlize Theron for 'Young Adult'. Kristen Wiig in 'Bridesmaids' and Michelle Williams for 'My Week with Marilyn'.
British comedian Ricky Gervais will be presenting the ceremony in January for the third time.
He said: "I'll just have something light like beans on toast so I don't throw up all over Robert De Niro."
