Tom Cruise intends to stay an action hero

Tom Cruise plans to keep making action films.

Tom Cruise has revealed that he will continue making action films and has no intention of slowing down even when he turns 50 in July 2012.

He made this statement at the premiere of his new film 'Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol', which is the fourth instalment of the franchise.

Cruise plays secret agent Ethan Hawke in the film, which he also produced.

He said on 13 December: "I'm just going to keep going, as long as I can do it. I love making action movies."

Cruise also revealed that he will have a party when he turns 50 even though he will be filming a movie.

Simon Pegg, Cruise's co-star in the film which is released on 26 December, revealed that he enjoyed getting to know the real Tom Cruise.

The first 'Mission Impossible' film was released in 1996 after Cruise had appeared in some of the highest grossing titles in the 1980s including 'Top Gun' (1986) and 'Rain Man' (1988).
