Alopecia forces Gail Porter to shave her hair

Scottish television presenter Gail Porter has been forced to shave her head after her alopecia returned.

The 39 year-old mother of one was left bald for five years by the condition, which seemed to have been beaten after her hair started growing back last year.

However, she revealed in November 2010 that her hair had started falling out again and last weekend she asked her boyfriend Jonny Davies to shave her head, reports the Daily Mail.

A message on her Twitter page asked fans: "Hey everyone. Dilemma o'clock. My hair is falling out rapidly. Do I shave the last hair off and see if it regrows or just have hair as pics (show)?

"Right... I'm going to get the clippers. Wish me luck. Will post a pic. Thanks for all your support, it's amazing. Mini me (daughter Honey) is excited."

Porter later showed off her newly shaved head when she took her eight-year-old daughter to a gala screening of Disney film Tangled at London's May Fair Hotel on Sunday (January 23rd).
