Spielberg has no plans to retire

Film director Steven Spielberg has revealed that he has no plans to retire from making films in the near future.

At a press conference for his latest film 'Warhorse', which is released on 13 January, he revealed that Clint Eastwood inspires him to keep going.

He said: "I have no plans to quit. Clint Eastwood is one of my best friends, and we have an almost jokey relationship about retirement."

Spielberg added that Eastwood is now 81 and he often asks him if he is retiring to which he says no.

The 'Jaws' director revealed that if Eastwood does not retire, he won't either.

His latest film 'Warhorse', based on the Michael Morporgo novel, enjoyed its UK premiere on 9 January, which Kate Middleton and her husband Prince William attended.

Spielberg's first foray into film directing occurred in 1974, when he directed 'Sugarland Express', which wasn't as successful as his later films including 'ET', 'Indiana Jones' and 'Jurassic Park'.
