71 Degrees North to return to ITV

Arctic

Reality adventure show 71 Degrees North is to return to ITV for a second series.

The eight-part programme will be hosted by comic Paddy McGuinness, with sports presenter Charlotte Jackson also involved.

The programme sees ten celebrities battle it out in snowy and icy conditions to reach the Arctic Circle.

Commenting on his new role, McGuinness said: "It's very flattering to be part of the ITV family. Ant and Dec get to spend time in sunny Australia, Dermot O'Leary fronts the biggest show on television and Phil and Holly enjoy a lovely day time gig by the Thames. What do I get, a month in the Arctic Circle. Let the frost, see the bite."

According to the programme's makers, only one celebrity will make it to the North Cape and be crowned as the show's winner.

Some of the stars who ventured to the Arctic Circle last year include former Blue Peter presenter Konnie Huq and rugby player Gavin Henson.
