Screen legend Elizabeth Taylor dies

Elizabeth Taylor

Hollywood legend Elizabeth Taylor has died at the age of 79.

The actress passed away on Wednesday (March 23rd) at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre in Los Angeles.

She had been admitted to the hospital earlier in the month suffering from congestive heart failure.

Taylor's son Michael Wilding paid tribute to the star saying her family will continue to be inspired by the contribution she made to the world.

"My mother was an extraordinary woman who lived life to the fullest, with great passion, humour, and love," he said.

"Though her loss is devastating to those of us who held her so close and so dear, we will always be inspired."

Mr Wilding added: "We know, quite simply, that the world is a better place for Mum having lived in it."

Taylor won two Academy Awards during her lengthy film career and became the first actress to earn $1 million for a movie role.
