Jack Black towers over Lilliput in Gulliver's Travels

Jack Black

American comedian, actor and musician Jack Black is set to hit the silver screen in a larger than life role that sees him take on the gigantic fictional character of Lemuel Gulliver in an upcoming film.

The 41-year-old star, who is part of the satirical rock duo Tenacious D, is not only acting in the classic Jonathan Swift tale Gulliver's Travels, but also contributing as one of the producers of the story.

Movie studio 20th Century Fox has released a trailer of the upcoming film, which explores the tale of a travel writer who is assigned a story on the Bermuda Triangle only to find himself swept off to the mysterious land of Lilliput.

Billy Connolly, Catherine Tate, Emily Blunt and Jason Segel also appear in the movie, which Black admitted was challenging to shoot at times as he had to act on his own in front of a blue screen.

He told MTV: "I was there for all their little stuff, but when they turned the cameras on me six months later, most of the people were gone and I was just acting to a tennis ball."
