Jamie Oliver second best selling author in Britain

British chef Jamie Oliver has achieved a new milestone after UK sales of his cookbooks catapulted him into being the biggest-selling author in the country after Harry Potter creator JK Rowling.
The 35-year-old restaurateur and media personality's books, including his latest entitled Jamie's 30-Minute Meals, which is shifting around 80,000 copies a week, have raised more than £100 million.
Although he is in second place, Oliver has some miles to cover before equalling Rowling's £228 million, but he need not worry about losing his current position as the next best-selling cook is Delia Smith at £62.5 million.
Since its release in September, 30-Minute Meals, which is one of many books written by Oliver, has sold more than half a million copies and is "the biggest selling non-fiction book of any kind since records began", according to Tom Weldon of publisher Penguin General Books.
He explained: "The reason Jamie has done so well over the past decade is that he is obsessed with every single detail in his books."
