Audrey Hepburn's 'Roman Holiday' dress being auctioned

A dress worn by Hepburn is being auctioned.

Audrey Hepburn's dress that she wore to collect her Oscar for her role in 'Roman Holiday' will be auctioned later this month.

The actress also wore the gown in the final scene of the film but had it altered for the award ceremony by its designer Edith Head.

It will be sold by Kerry Taylor Auctions in London on 29 November and it is expected to sell for between £40,000 and £60,000.

'Roman Holiday' saw Audrey play a runaway princess who travelled with Gregory Peck on a scooter across Italy. It was filmed in 1954 and catapulted the actress to stardom.

A recent poll by Harper Collins found that the majority of Brits would like to be reincarnated as Hepburn followed by Albert Einstein and Winston Churchill, reported the Mirror.

She was born in Belgium but was mainly brought up in England. She appeared in the classic films 'Breakfast at Tiffany's' and 'My Fair Lady'.
