Conrad Murray sentenced to four years for involuntary manslaughter of Michael Jackson

Michael Jackson's doctor Conrad Murray has been sentenced to four years imprisonment for the involuntary manslaughter of the singer.
Murray was found guilty of administrating powerful drugs to the 'Thriller' singer, which led to an overdose and Jackson's death on 25 June 2009 earlier this month.
When passing the sentence, judge Michael Pastor said: "I find that Dr Murray abandoned his patient who was trusting him; his patient was vulnerable under those circumstances, having been administrated potentially dangerous drugs by his medical provider."
Four years is the maximum sentence for involuntary manslaughter and Murray may only serve half this time minus the 47 days he has already spent in custody.
The doctor did not openly react to the sentence but Jackson's family revealed after the sentencing that no time would be enough to bring back their loved one.
Jackson's mother Katherine thanked the judge for passing the maximum sentence.
Michael first took to the stage at the age of 11 with his brothers as part of the Jackson Five and built a lucrative pop career.
He will be remembered for tracks including 'Thriller' 'Bad' 'Man in the Mirror' and 'Black or White', which firmly cemented him as the King of Pop.
