Demi Moore files for divorce

Actress Demi Moore has filed for divorce from her husband of six years Ashton Kutcher.

The announcement comes two months after allegations that Kutcher had cheated on the 'Indecent Proposal' star on their six-year wedding anniversary.

She issued a statement saying: "As a woman, a mother and a wife, there are certain values and vows that I hold sacred, and it is in this spirit that I have chosen to move forward with my life."

The 49-year-old added that it was with great sadness that she had filed for divorce.

'Dude where's my car' actor Kutcher made his own comment on the end of the marriage on Twitter, posting he has cherished his time with Moore but marriage is hard.

The couple married in September 2005 but their relationship hit the headlines when 22-year-old Sara Leal claimed to have had a fling with Kutcher.

Moore, who has previously been married to Bruce Willis, is known for her roles in 'Ghost' (1990), 'A Few Good Men' and 'Mr Brooks'.
