Victoria Beckham thanks family after winning fashion award

Former Spice Girl turned fashion designer Victoria Beckham collected the Designer Brand of the Year at the British Fashion Awards on 28 November.

She collected her award from her friend Marc Jacobs at the Savoy Hotel in London and gave an emotional acceptance speech.

The mother-of-four said: "I am overwhelmed. I was really trying to keep it together in the speech without bursting out crying.

"It means an enormous amount to me. It's something for the kids to take to school for show-and-tell."

Victoria married English footballer David Beckham after the birth of their first child Brooklyn in 1999.

Since then, she has given birth to two sons and daughter Harper Seven this year, while pursuing a lucrative fashion designer career.

Other winners at the awards included Sarah Burton, named Designer of the Year, for her work at the Alexander McQueen label, such as the Royal wedding dress.

Stella McCartney won the Red Carpet award for the quality and quantity of her designs that are worn at film premieres.
