Charlize Theron dazzles at event for her Aids charity

Charlize Theron has opened an exhibition to benefit her charity.

Oscar-winning actress Charlize Theron dazzled at an exhibition that was opened last night (13 October).

She attended the Annenberg Space for Photography in Hollywood, wearing a black and white lace dress designed by Marchesa.

The South-African native has launched an exhibition entitled Reach, which includes 24 photographic portraits by Randall Slavin, including images of Bill Clinton and Clint Eastwood.

It is hoped that the exhibition will help raise awareness and funds for Charlize's own charity, called the Africa Outreach Programme.

The aim of her charity is to reduce HIV and Aids as well as sexual violence among African youngsters.

She launched the charity in 2007 and said: "I was born and raised in South Africa.

"It just always broke my heart knowing that with all the knowledge we have today about how not to be HIV positive, my country is the hardest hit by this epidemic."

The 36-year-old won her Best Actress Oscar for her portrayal of Aileen Wuornos, America's first female serial killer, in the film 'Monster' (2003).
