Cowell brands Gaga 'boring'

While there may be times it appears Lady Gaga's choices are a cry for attention, such as the raw meat outfit she sported to the MTV Video Music Awards, it was surprising to hear someone describe the songstress as boring.

But that's just the word 'X-Factor' creator Simon Cowell used to describe the bold vocalist as he hit out at a number of celebrities recently.

The 51-year-old said: "If you only ever heard Lady Gaga, she's the most boring singer in the world. You've got to see her - you need TV."

The critical talent show judge also dared to align the star's appeal with that of Beyonce Knowles and Russell Brand's other half, Katy Perry.

He added: "We're all about image. You have to have that X Factor."

Cowlell took one last stab at celebrity insults by describing US X Factor presenter Steve Jones as the direct opposite of the host of American Idol.

He concluded: "He's tall, dark, British - he's basically completely the opposite of Ryan Seacrest."

Cowell was born in Lambeth, London, in October 1959 and has been establishing himself as a music industry legend ever since.
