Meet The Chawners: the obese, overeating, telly addicts who claim more than £25K in benefits because they are too overweight and ill to work. But hopefully all that is about to change, with the help of Lorraine Kelly.

In the first episode we find out just how ill dad Phil is and the new healthy regime begins. But Audrey and Sam are reluctant to leave the house, even to walk the dog.

We meet the team of experts that will be helping Lorraine whip the Chawners into shape. And the family is weighed and assessed for the first time before the girls set off for Wellspring, to take part in a month long weight-loss programme.

But how long will they last?
 

Emma and Sam knuckle down at Wellspring; they lose weight and fell energized.

Meanwhile their parents go to BUPA’s £20 million Wellness Centre where Audrey gets the bad news about her obesity and Phil learns some hard facts about what will happen if he doesn’t manage his diabetes.

Elise Lyndsey arrives to give Audrey and Phil a work out and assess their fitness. And Audrey has a trip to the dentist.
 

Phil goes to get some health eating and cooking lessons from award winning chef, Aldo Zilli. And Dr. Barbara Murray gives him some advice on how to manage his diabetes.

At Wellspring the girls are going down with illness and injury, and they struggle to stick to the programme. Audrey and Phil travel to Somerset ready for parents weekend.

Then disaster strikes when Emma is admitted to hospital with appendicitis.

It’s parents’ weekend at Wellspring, but Audrey and Phil don’t want to get involved, which exasperates Sam and Emma.

After the final weigh in and graduation everyone heads home, where the girls go through the fridge and Audrey’s coat chucking unhealthy food out.

Phil puts the things he’s learned with Aldo into practice and Audrey enjoys it so much she eats three bowls of the pasta he cooks.

Elise takes everyone for a work out but Phil goes AWOL. And then its time for a family holiday to Yarmouth, which sparks off more rows in the Chawner household.
 

The family is due to meet Lorraine in London to catch up but Audrey is rushed to hospital with a life and death condition.

Emma and Sam go to France where they meet Elizabeth Gibaud, who shocks them with a walk and proper healthy food. It doesn’t go down too well.

Sam has an epiphany and decides she wants to open hairdressing business.

Emma is invited to sing at the ceremony to switch on the Christmas lights in Leeds, and she has some signing lessons. But what song will she choose for the big night?

Elise meets the girls for their last work out, but Audrey is less than enthusiastic.

There’s one last weigh in before the family have a make-over, courtesy of Mark Heyes. Have they reached their targets?
